Suggestion of news group moderation?

In another thread, moderation of news groups is mentioned, and
coincidentally, in another news group, alt survival, I read the
following alert, which I take the liberty of posting here FYI.

there was too much information circulating and too much loose talk .
Few (if any ) of those originating this stuff would dare to stand in
main street and shout this offensive material , so why do they think
they can do it on-line?

Concerns are also growing that ‘foreign’ powers are the perpetrators
of some of this with aim of undermining our democratic institutions
and freedom of speech -WE however control most of the tcp/ip cable
routing so they could find themselves in a strange and disconnected
world !

There’s very little difference between ‘working for someone’ and ‘doing there bidding’ If this is your attempt at a retraction try again.
I suggest more than a retraction is called for, a full apology is in order and deletion of all offending posts.
If you want a public record of your findings set up a blog. If you want your findings to survive after your death I suggest you find all those interest ad send them electronic copies of your findings.
Google really shouldn’t allow these things to take place. They are not interested in you filling this with messages which other users are not interested in. They may very well be concerned about allowing defamation.
Maybe you’d like to communicate privately on how to go rectifying matters. You have my email.

I'd imagine that you have you 'searchable card-index' backed up but if you don't then given the post from Donald Cameron, then quite apart from any actions I might take, you'd be wise to do so. I won't take any actions which might result in deletion of part or all of your posts and indeed the content of this group, for 48 hours so that if you are not backed up you have the chance to do so. If you need more time let me know. I don't want to see your work wiped out but there are more appropriate locations.

I'm struggling now to remember how we first started corresponding...but it was too long ago.

I wonder how long you & Dave Webb worked me over as "good cop"/"bad cop" but it is all a haze.

Were you pushing my buttons (as Dave Webb did so often) by bringing up Donald Trump?

I suppose (in a way) I should feel flattered that so many Strats think that this abandoned antique newsgroup would still get so much attention.

If you're interested in creating a new moderated group, we can help you,
but I've got to tell you right off the bat that it's not easy.

Moderation works like this: New articles are emailed to you directly and
if the moderation teams accepts it, then you send those to your usenet
provider with an approved header. Sounds simple, right? The problem is
that the existing software that automates this still is ancient and
kludgy but it is functional. You can see more info about it here:

Of course, that's not the only way to handle article moderation. It would
be great if someone wrote a new application to do this, but right now
that's it. We also request that you have a moderation team instead of a
sole moderator in case someone leaves or looses interest in which case
the group is effectively dead. Email us at ***@big-8.org if you're
interested and we can talk about it.
