My question about Shakespeare's identity is far out, yet conceivable. I like the notion that he had noble parents, not those in Stratford but the court. It's well known that illigetimate children spawned at court sent progeny to outside parents in a contract of no or little contact in exchange for the child's new identity.
Certain question marks concerning Shakespeare's sonnets, bastardy in the history plays, and his interest in "re-creation" themes come into play with an illegitimate ID and yet nobility and relations with nobles.
After all, where did the Shakespeares/Hathaways get the money to sneakily marry off William and Anne?
Just barely possible that digging up a few graves in Stratford would establish genetic clues connecting William with relatives--or not.
